Lynn Bowers - Hiking/Snowshoeing Director

I am the Hiking and Snowshoe Director and have been with the CSC for over 20 years and have been an honourary member for a few years now. I’m known for wanting to combine fine dining with all my outings, whether dressed appropriately for the restaurants or not. Come out and join me on the hills this year!

Craig Tillison - Day Trips Director

I was born and raised in Saskatchewan; attended U of S, now known as U of R in Regina, obtaining  a B.A. and B. Ed.  I worked for Molson Breweries for over twenty years in Regina, Saskatoon and Calgary. Since the brewery closed in Calgary I have held various postions, most notably with Canada Bread. When I reached the age of fifty five I chose to 'semi-retire' and work summers only at Inglewood Golf Course and ski on 'pow' days in the winter. Sounds good eh? Send your donations to..
I joined the CSC when I moved here in 1988 and have been a member ever since; many of my friends are members or friends of members, it has been my way of integrating into the society here and I highly recommend it to new-comers and long term residents alike. I hope to 'give back' by serving on council as day-trip co-ordinator. Pray for snow! Global warming ____

Debra Mandziuk-Burns - Extended Trips Director

Born and raised in Saskatchewan, I was briefly introduced to skiing by a friend in High School, but my love for skiing really developed when I moved to Lethbridge and started skiing at Fernie. I have been a member of the CSC since January 2007. I joined CSC to meet people who shared my passion for downhill skiing. Through day trips and weekend bus trips, I have enjoyed skiing in a friendly atmosphere with other members and developing great friendships. Since planning events is second nature for me, last year I immediately volunteered to plan and act as trip coordinator for the successful Kimberley trip. This year, I volunteered to be the Extended Trips Director in order to plan a variety of extended bus trips, day trips and carpool trips that hopefully will offer something for every discipline offered by the CSC. My plan for this year is to join our Alpine/Cross-Country/Snowshoe and Hiking programs through camaraderie on trips and social activities.

diane

Diane Duckett - Office Administrator

I’m British and came to Calgary from Syria in 1997. I have 2 children, and have travelled to, and worked in administrative roles in many countries and owned a restaurant in the UK. Currently I operate a small real-estate portfolio of fully-furnished condominiums. I joined the CSC last season, love downhill skiing and am a Level I instructor, planning to take my Level 2 course this winter. I’ve has just discovered hiking and will pursue Nordic skiing next year. I’ve also had a private pilot's licence in the 80s, have parachuted and bungie-jumped and enjoy life to the fullest!

glenna

Glenna Paton -Communicatons Director

I’m a downhill skier who has just recently reformed from a few years on the dark side of snowboarding . I learned to ski on the icy slopes of Southern Ontario and honed my skills during a two year stint living in Switzerland. My hubby Andy and I moved to Calgary just over a year ago and we’re both looking forward to our second ski season with CSC. I hope my fast talking and natural exuberance will serve me well in promoting CSC and all of the great activities our club has to offer. You’ll be hearing from me with our CSC UPDATES newsletter! which I create and seeing a lot of me at all of our upcoming social events!

craig

Craig Danco - I.T. Director

I joined CSC in 2008 looking to find other crazy folks in search of the roughest & toughest terrain that the hills have to offer. Skiing since I was six, you’ll see me out in any kind of weather and I try to never miss a weekend trip.  If you don’t find me out on the hills almost every weekend, you’ll find me mountain biking them instead!

Brian Danco - President

Starting in my early teens in the wilds (?) of the West Kootenays, I’ve been able to enjoy the wonders of our winters by strapping on my boards and heading downhill at great speeds - preferably while remaining upright. Those of you that have skied with me know all too well, this is something I still aspire to! The part about going downhill at great speed is rarely the challenge, however, remaining upright sometimes eludes me. When gravitational pull does occur, I am consistently able to provide great entertainment for others with my artistic interpretation of new and varied ways of falling downhill. And please, don’t just take my word for it, I have this information from many reliable sources that have seen my creative expression cascading down the hill!!

With a great passion for skiing and having been a member of the CSC for a number of years now, I am honoured to be your President for the 2010/11 season, CSC’s Diamond 75th Anniversary. Your Council has been working extremely hard throughout the summer to plan and organize many great activities and Social events. Being a non-profit organization, we function solely thanks to the many volunteers pitching in - members just like you. Volunteer opportunities range from a very small commitment to others that require something more. There are still many great opportunities simply waiting for a volunteer - you CAN make a difference and if you are interested in finding out more, please let me know.
I would also love to have your feedback about what the CSC does/does not offer our members. Council works based on the information and feedback we have available to us. Your comments, thoughts and suggestions will definitely be heard and add great value to our club.
