It's Time for CRITTERPALOOZA!
It's that time of year when we get to take stock of some of the wild residents of our beloved K-Country and get a sneak-peak into what goes on with all the wildlife cameras around! We would like to thank the Government of Alberta for providing access to these fun photos.
So get ready to look around at some of the critters who call K-Country home! The trails in K-Country aren't just for humans!
Wildlife often travel along the trails in K-Country to get around. What would you do if you encountered this large black bear on your travels? When out and about in the mountains, make sure you travel in groups and make noise. Have your bear spray in an accessible location and know how to use it! If you see wildlife moving down the trail, consider calmly stepping aside to let them get where they are going. This bear is just trying to get somewhere, and the trail is leading him in the right direction.
Fencing keeps wildlife off critical infrastructure like highways and reservoirs, but it comes at a cost by inhibiting wildlife movement. If we take these measures, we must make sure we provide adequate crossings so wildlife can roam.
These are only a few photographs of wildlife roaming around. Click here for the Friends of Kananaskis November Newsletter and enjoy this year's edition of "Critterpalooza"!
