This is a last minute replacement hike replacing the Eden Valley Reserve Day which is cancelled due to a death in the family.
Meet at Westhills Parking Lot in front of Winners at 8:45 am. We will carpool out to Brown Lowery leaving at 9 am at the latest. At Brown Lowery we will do the 6.6 km easy perimetre hike with modest hills and lots of lush forest. We may add a bit more distance depending on the desires of the group, or not... From there we'll eat our bagged lunches (self-provded) and them drive to nearby Leighton Art Centre for spectacular views and a short 1km-ish hike around the property as well as some art perusing inside. We'll carpool back and return to Calgary mid-afternoon.
Signal Hill to Brown Lowery: 46km, 32 min: Stoney Tr South to exit 22XW, Left on Hwy 22/AB 22, Right on 242 Ave W/Plummers Rd to park.
Brown Lowery to Leighton: 25 km, 22 min: East on Plummers Rd, R on Hwy 22, Left on 274 Ave, Right on 144 Street. Suggested passanger carpooling gas contribution: $10 per passenger.
